Asian Slaw

So, I think I finally perfected the Asian slaw tonight! Tonight despite the forecast snow and cooler weather, we grilled up a NY Strip and I made Asian slaw to go along with it. Yum.

Here is what I did: I took a bag of shredded cabbage and tossed it with a bunch of chopped green onions and cilantro. Save a hand full of each of these for the dressing. I also added a chopped red pepper, a hand full of shredded carrots and purple cabbage. I threw in a handful of broccoli too. Next it was the dressing. I whisked a 1/4 cup of soy sauce and a 1/4 cup of olive oil. I added in the saved green onions and cilantro and sprinkled in some seasame seeds, garlic powder, salt, pepper and ginger. Yeah, I never measure anything.

I tossed all this together and got this:

It was a good night tonight. Tim and I went to happy hour at one of our favorite places — Barrymores and then came home and grilled. Now settling in for one of our favorite shows — Portlandia! Happy weekend!
